EXTENSIVE
FREE ADVICE WITH EDITS EXCEEDING 200 PAGES!
MARKETING
YOUR MANUSCRIPT--Scanning the classified ads to find a job
has long been criticized as an ineffective way to find decent employment.
Likewise, relying on market listings alone to sell a manuscript can
be equally unproductive. Here's an innovative, in-depth approach to
marketing your manuscript that you've not likely been exposed to. If
you're serious about selling your work, throw away the market listings
and get serious about selling your manuscript with this common sense
guide to marketing--free for the asking with any edit exceeding 200
pages. One carefully targeted submission can be more effective than
100 random submissions.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SELF-PUBLICATION--If you've read
my comments regarding self-publication, you already know that I'm not
a big fan. However, circumstances do exist wherein self-publication
could be your best bet. Unfortunately, print on demand publishers can
not only be misleading, but also deceitful. Here's an in-depth, objective
look at what you may truly expect from self-publication and print-on-demand
publishers. I can be more candid in this free private report than on
my web site and help you maximize your self-publication experience while
minimizing your expense in doing so. View self-publication from an honest,
unbiased perspective--free for the asking with any edit exceeding 200
pages.
TO
SCHEDULE AN EDIT :
CONTACT ME
via
e-mail with a brief one-paragraph description of your manuscript. If
your work falls within my area of expertise, I'd like to serve as your
editor. I don't want your money if I feel someone else could be better
for you.
Following a favorable response to the above, you may then forward a
complete copy of your manuscript as an e-mail electronic file attachment.
I will evaluate your manuscript format and possibly recommend minor
modifications, then provide you with an exact fee quote for my editorial
services.
YOUR
OPTIONS:
OPTION
#1 -- IF YOU SEND HARD COPY TO ME, my fee is only 1.1 cents
per word (per your software's word count) plus $20 return shipping.
Example: 75,000 word manuscript is $825 plus $20 return shipping --
$845. Depending upon my work load at the time, your edit will usually
begin upon receipt of the manuscript and payment in full, and will be
returned to you within two weeks. I will let you know if my schedule
at the time is running a bit slower. You may pay by check or money order
in American funds only or use the PayPal option below. Ship your manuscript
to:
Creative
Inspirations, Inc.
P.O. Box 100031
Birmingham, AL 35210
NOTE:
Unsolicited hard copy may not be accepted.
I prefer to see an electronic copy prior to committing to an edit,
so please get authorization from me by e-mail prior to shipping a manuscript;
otherwise, it may be returned unopened.
OPTION
#2 -- IF YOU PREFER ME TO PRINT THE MANUSCRIPT FOR YOU, add
ten-cents per double-spaced page to the fee determined above. Example:
75,000 word, 300 page manuscript is $825 plus $20 return shipping plus
$30 printing fee -- $875.
This
option saves you the cost of paper and printing, as well as the time
and expense of shipping your manuscript to me. This option also speeds
the process. In most cases, your edit will begin within 48 hours of
your initial contact and your manuscript will be returned to you within
two weeks. I will let you know if my schedule at the time is running
a bit slower. You may pay by check or money order in American funds
only or use the PayPal option below.
OPTION
#3 -- IF YOU PREFER ME TO WORK DIRECTLY WITH YOUR ELECTRONIC FILE,
my fee is 2.2 cents per word. Example: 75,000 word manuscript is $1,650.
This option includes correction of all basic, minor mistakes but no
rewriting. For example, I will make all punctuation corrections but
will not correct incomplete sentences. In the vast majority of cases
your edit will begin upon receipt of payment in full and your manuscript
will be returned to you via e-mail within three weeks. I will let you
know if my schedule at the time is running a bit slower. You may pay
by check or money order in American funds only or use the PayPal option
below:
Red,
Blue or Black?
While
red ink is easiest to see on a marked-up manuscript, some feel that
it's a bit harsh, especially on a manuscript requiring heavy attention.
Blue is perhaps more subtle, and black can be difficult to discern against
typical black print. Regardless, if you have a preference, I'll be happy
to mark up your manuscript in your color of choice. The default color
is blue, which will be used unless requested otherwise.
What I Seek in a Client
My
preference
is to work with hard copy for serious writers who intend to make their
manuscript the very best it can be by performing a meticulous line-by-line
rewrite following receipt of the edited manuscript. If you intend to
only make absent-minded corrections from the marked-up manuscript, please
find someone else to edit your work. I want clients who wish to succeed;
after all, your success is a reflection of my expertise. You'll not
likely succeed if you're unwilling to learn from this process and condition
yourself to spot your own errors, thereby reducing your future dependency
upon book editors.
